Repeat prescriptions will be issued at the doctor’s discretion and are normally for patients on long-term treatment.

Request for repeat prescriptions can be made a number of ways.

• Prescription requests can be left at the dispensary in Preesall or handed in to either of the local chemists’ shops by handing in the patient’s computer slip with the items requested clearly marked.
• Alternatively, you can register with the online Patient Access system to request your repeat prescriptions, as well as book and cancel appointments and send secure messages to us.

If you collect your prescriptions from the Medical Centre Dispensary please allow 48 hours (two working days) for your prescription to be prepared.

If you collect your prescriptions from either of the local pharmacies please contact them directly for their collection & delivery times.

The Over Wyre Medical Centre is a dispensing Practice and dispensing patients (i.e. those who live more than one mile from a chemist shop) can pick up their repeat medication after 14:00 on the day promised, or anytime thereafter during opening hours.

Please be aware that prescriptions for Controlled Drugs can not be collected between 12:00 - 14:00 due to leagal requirements.

The dispensary opening hours are 08:30 – 18:30 Monday to Friday.

We are also able to offer a home delivery service for patients who are unable, through age and/or infirmity, to collect their medication.
